A : Basic expressions
- make a[phone] call = call, ring, phone
- answer the phone = pick up the phone, receive [talk] a call ↔ hang up the phone
- speak to [with] someone = talk to someone, reach someone → I want to reach Mr .jp.
- hold on the line = stay on the line, hold on [one moment], please.
- put a call through to A → I'll put you through (to A)
B : Key sentences
- I'd like to speak [talk] to [with] 이름. - Could [May=Can] I speak to 이름?
- Could [May=Can] I ask who is calling? - Could [May=Can] I have your name?
- May I sak what this is about?- It's 이름. - This is 이름 of 회사명. - My name is 이름 of 회사명.
- Who would you like to speak to?
- I'll put a call through to 사람/직책. = I'll transfer a call to 사람/직책.
= I'll connect a call with 사람/직책
- one moment, please. - Hold on, please. - Can I put you on hold?
- Please pick up the phone on line 3.
C : Key Dialog
- Can I speak to Mr. JP? → May I ask who‘s calling?
